We’ve been using WordPress for free since orgtheory.net began, and the software has been absolutely fantastic. When we started there were some 60,000 blogs using WordPress.com, the number now is well over 1.2 million; well-deserved growth. (Various organizations now use WordPress MU group software, including Le Monde, Harvard U, etc.) The amazing WordPress Akismet spam software has (to date) caught 53,585 spam comments targeted at orgtheory. If there ever was a start-up that deserved to be bought out for a couple billion – its the small little outfit, automattic, that has developed all this.
