  1. i haven’t read the book but from the podcasts and other stuff i’ve seen it looks very interesting, almost a micro version of some of Skocpol’s recent work. the findings are very interesting, especially given that ACORN’s troubles originally began because it was using the kind of quota/piecework model for petitioning that Fisher decries for canvassing. furthermore, there’s also an interesting methodological/ethical issue in her extremely rocky relationship with “People’s Project” (read: PIRG), which is quite a contrast to, for instance, professor Chen’s recent discussion here of her more felicitous relationship with Burning Man
