On trying to break the world record for highest parachute jump. Held by Joe Kittinger who jumped 102, 800 feet in a 1960 Air Force experiment.

Seriously one of my favorite stories ever. The fact that there is (amazing) video of it is just phenomenal. Also, Boards of Canada repurposed the footage quite effectively.
