welcome accounts readers!

Orgtheory was recently listed in the blogroll of the ASA economic sociology newsletter . Welcome “Accounts” readers! For new readers, I’ll highlight some of the recent fun posts:

We also had an online book seminar addressing Donald MacKenzie’s An Engine, Not a Camera: How Financial Models Shape Markets, which is about the rise of financial economics. Check out the posts on the book from Brayden (here, here  and here), Teppo (here, here ) and myself (here, here). If you have a suggestion for the next book seminar, drop a note in the comments section. Thanks for checking in on us.

  1. I would hope that Kieran does not actually think that prediction markets are bunk because they said something was going to happen with a 60-odd% probability and it didn’t happen. If the market is right, we would expect this to happen 30-odd% of the time, and if it didn’t, the markets would be bunk.
