not sure what to call this blog post

Brayden

I spent a few minutes this morning reading through some of the best blog posts ever and realized that time really does take its toll. Remove them from the context or conversation in which they were written, and a lot of political commentary blog posts quickly lose their freshness. The same does not apply however to Fafblog. Those are as funny now as they were on first reading. I’d forgotten how much I missed those guys. Fafnir, Giblets, and the Medium Lobster helped see me through some tough grad school days. Makes me a little sad to know that the real Fafnir is still out there somewhere and I have no idea what’s on his mind. And then I got even sadder and more nostalgic when I realized that I might be saying the same thing about the good ole’ Jeremy Freese blog in a year or two. *sigh* We’ll be sitting around in some hotel restaurant at the ASA meetings reminiscing about those hilarious posts, his short stories, and that quirky Lonely Donut Man and… geez, I really hope Jeremy blogs again soon.

UPDATE: Henry Farrell misses Fafblog too.  He’s asking Crooked Timber readers to post their favorite Fafblog moments.  I put one down for posterity’s sake.

  1. Yeah, well, I posted again today, so perhaps my own reports of my death were greatly exaggerated.

  2. Maybe Jeremy is entering his “fat Jordan” blogging career stage.
