text-to-movie app
OK, this is too cool not to post about: a free text-to-movie app, from xtranormal.com.
So, you can select from dozens of different characters, voices and accents, behaviors, camera angles, music, backgrounds etc and essentially create your own script and cartoon movie, for free. It’s super easy, fast and way too much fun.
I started constructing a death match and dialogue between orgtheory and our evil twin, O&M (the app has some great, professor-ish characters, settings, accents, etc) — but alas, I’ve got some other things pressing.
Don’t keep us hanging – you must complete it!!!

Hmm, I should have finished…now erased. Lunch (AOM or ASA) for anyone who wants to create one related to our field (or, about the above death match). This seems like something that the former proprietors of The Soc Shrine could run with.

I will buy you a fanny pack if you can make a decent film.

That’s just what we all need, a fanny pack with ‘orgtheory’ stitched on it — for all guesters, regulars, commenters and budding movie makers. We’ll have to look into that. T-shirts and ribbons (scatterplot) are lame.

Dude, how can you be incentivized to finish that movie? Just say it!

Via the default tools, I created these two blurbs.
The first is about E-sylum, the electronic maillist of the Numismatic Bibliomania Society.
The second is Sarah Palin on Larry King, speaking words I wrote for an discussion over on an Objectivist website, Rebirth of Reason.

The medium holds many promises. On another board (Objectivist Living), I suggested that this is how the movie version of Atlas Shrugged will be made, by amateurs, one vignette at a time.

xtranormal let me create 4 movies free then I would have to buy ‘points’ to create more! So much for free text to movies as advertised!
