  2. I voted for item 2. However, I believe there is a problem with the question design, insofar as evolutionary psychology is not a useful method for identifying evolved traits. Perhaps the field has moved on, but isn’t evolutionary psychology mostly a form of speculation about the putative evolutionary origins about presumed differences between social categories (differences that often have no empirical foundation)?

  3. Rosemary Hopcroft has a new intro text that highlights the interface between sociology and biological and life sciences. Actually doesn’t spend too much time on evolutionary psychology: http://www.amazon.com/Sociology-Biosocial-Introduction-Rosemary-Hopcroft/dp/1594518017%3FSubscriptionId%3DAKIAJASE6HSSVXTNREYQ%26tag%3Dsmtfx1-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3D1594518017

This article (free to access) gives an excellent introduction to the subject.

  8. “Who knew the overlap was so small between here and scatterplot?”

I don’t find it surprising at all. The readership of both blogs is very different.
