mba rankings, crowdsourced
An effort to crowdsource MBA program rankings.
Rank here: http://www.allourideas.org/mbarankings
[With big apologies to those with rankings fatigue. This one’s, largely, targeted toward a different population. Actually, sort of an interesting self-selection that occurs with these rankings — more on that later.]
I think the path that we are heading in will be to ultimately get all meta and crowdsource the ranking of ranking systems.

It’s only a matter of time before Teppo gets all meta about anything. You can see a foreshadowing of the meta-discussion to come in his comment about selection effects.

Lots of interesting stuff to vet with these rankings (I’m sure those discussions are coming).
Though, I reached a saturation point when I managed to create a duplicate ranking (for Gordon @ Conglomerate) of law schools — where Leiter already had one up (with a different set), we did not realize this until it was too late. Leiter seemed thrilled (reading between the lines on his blog). Oh well, maybe the two rankings will offer some interesting comparisons.

I’d like to see multiple dimensions on which to rank journals, departments, etc. Someone already called for a way to list “related” rankings. ie., you could go to a page which listed all departmental rankings or journal rankings, or rankings relevant to sociology. Perhaps a wiki, and a trackback feature on the actual rankings questions so you can find related rankings.
